ADAM & ADDIE / SYLVANDALE / HAYWARD, WI

Well, Wisconsin, you have me completely sold for summer weddings. Who ever knew July doesn’t have to be 110 degrees with a humidity of 1000% — not me. Addie and Adam’s wedding was as personal as it gets. I have know Addie pretty much since birth because growing up, my older sister and Addie were best friends. And since I was a little annoying sister, I made them include me in the fun at all times, therefore Addie became, pretty much, like my big sister too. When she asked me to capture her wedding, I was so thrilled that I got to be there to not only witness the marriage of these two people, but capture it so they would have those memories forever.

Addie and Adam both actually live in San Diego, but it was an easy to decision for them to get married at the Lake House in Wisconsin that Addie has been going to ever summer growing up. On top of that, this whole wedding was mainly about every single person who joined them on that day. Traveling from all over, normal wedding traditions didn’t stand in the way of a sweet, intimate ceremony by the water. Adam’s grandmother married them, and friends and family laughed and cheered from the audience as personal stories were told about the two love birds. It was perfection.

After the ceremony, we headed to the most rustic barn reception, completed with a pizza food truck and draft root beer that you can only have in this little town in Wisconsin. Toasts dominated the night as friends after family members stood up to say loving words to the couple and if I could give my couples superlatives these two would win for the best laughing couple I have ever captured. It made my heart glowed as they just chuckled endlessly with each other the whole day long.

Overall, everything about their day was so them — and that made that day so perfect. It was a day to celebrate a marriage, a friendship, the adventure that began when they started dating, and all those who have been lucky enough to know Addie and Adam. This simple, beautiful, wedding was one for the books for sure.
